PROJECT OVERVIEW

This project was undertaken as part of the Brighton and Hove City Council Planned Maintenance Framework in the Summer of 2023.

The project involved stripping the existing asphalt waterproofing to the structural wood decking ready for the installation of the new Garland UK 3 layer felt system.

The new system incorporated a full tapered system across all 4 separate roof sections to allow the water to drain off the roof or to the required outlets. Other works associated with this project were the installation of new hardy plank cladding, ballasted freestanding edge protection new soffits/fascias and a new UPVC door the achieve the correct upstand height of 150mm from finish roof level.

PROJECT CHALLENGES

Sussex Asphalte executed all four-roof sections totalling 253m2 within the 6-week summer holiday period whilstcontending with the wettest summer in the UK for decades.
