Objectives

This case study delves into a multifaceted roofing project involving the removal of existing roofing materials and the installation of an insulated BMI Noxite Bituminous membrane.Situated at a live retail store with continuous foot traffic, this endeavour encompassed four roof areas featuring diverse decking materials, The complexities of this project stemmed from its location, storage constraints, and the need for a specialised scaffold structure to undertake ridge tile removal. In total, the project spanned an extensive 1200m2.

Solutions

The team faced their fair share of challenges to ensure the smooth delivery of this project. To start, the project unfolded at alive store, this dynamic environment necessitated meticulous planning to ensure the safety and convenience of all parties involved.

The drop-off zones were situated within a confined inner courtyard, requiring precise timing for all deliveries. Complyingwith the client's stringent safety regulations, the storage of roof insulation on the roof was prohibited, as it was deemed combustible. A small container in the public carpark served as an alternative storage solution. This constraint added complexity to logistics, demanding precise scheduling to prevent the depletion of insulation due to limited storage capacity.

To facilitate the removal of ridge tiles from the front elevation of the building, a custom-built scaffold was essential. The intricacies of the building's architecture, coupled with the presence of public access below and proximity to a main road, made this task exceptionally challenging.

In conclusion, this case study underscores the complexities of a roofing project undertaken in a dynamic environment. It highlights the importance of meticulous planning, safety considerations, and innovative solutions in overcoming unique challenges. The successful completion of this project exemplifies our dedication to delivering exceptional results, even in the face of adversity.
