Kingsley Industrial Roofing embarked on a significant undertaking to rejuvenate Southdown Road, an aged factory plagued with asbestos issues. This project was a great showcase of their expertise in modern roofing and cladding techniques.

Innovation

The project began with the crucial task of asbestos removal. Kingsley's skilled team meticulously adhered to stringent safety protocols, utilising specialised equipment to ensure the safe and thorough removal of all asbestos roofing and cladding from the site.

Upon the successful removal of asbestos, the building was outfitted with durable, weather-resistant composite materials, specifically Tata Trisomet 120mm Composite for the roof and Tata Trisomet 80mm Composite for the walls, covering an area of 400 m2 for the roof and 200 m2 for the cladding.

Brett Martin triple FAIRS rooflights were integrated to enhance natural lighting, coupled with the installation of an lcopal Felt roof system over the 140 m2 flat roof area. This selection of high­quality materials, backed by a 25-year manufacture warranty and a 2-year Kingsley standard defects warranty, not only rejuvenated the building's aesthetics but also significantly improved its thermal efficiency and weatherproofing capabilities.
